Description

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is used to treat, but is not limited to, addicts and those who have mental illnesses or are prone to suicidal thoughts. This therapy teaches people how to be mindful, tolerate emotional pain, communicate effectively, and regulate emotions so as to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Rick Coons, Clinical Director of DBT Recovery Center in Beverly Hills, talks with Julie-Ann about his work at the center’s intensive outpatient program and emotional components of DBT.
