Finding The Right LGBTQ Therapist

January 9, 2017 248 53 No Comments

In this introduction to OUT & Informed, Jim Brillon explains that a person’s sexual orientation is not a problem; problems arise from chronic stigma, marginalization and invalidation of LGBTQ people. Shame, resulting from such oppression, affects the lives of LGBTQ people. He talks about why it is crucial to find the right therapist, and why that therapist must be LGBTQ-Affirmative. Future segments will explore in more depth, all these topics.
